The Legacy Communities are located within the City of East Gull Lake. Within the city limits, there are several beautiful lakes with over 38 miles of shoreline, over 8 miles of newly paved multi-use trails, 108 holes of golf with two courses highly ranked by Golf Digest Magazine, tennis courts, miles of groomed cross-country ski trails, as well as 5 wonderful resorts and restaurants with all facilities open to the general public including 10 restaurants, shopping, ice cream parlor, two golf driving ranges with teaching professionals and much more.

The East Gull Lake Multi-Use Trail includes over 8 miles of paved trail that can be used for walking, biking, roller blading, snowmobiling and golf carts. The trail starts at the East Gull Lake Recreation Area (near Gull Dam) down County Road 70 past Cragun’s Legacy Golf Courses, past Madden’s Classic Golf Course (there is a 1.2 mile leg of the trail that runs south on County Road 18), past Cragun’s Resort, past Kavanaugh’s Resort, and ends at Fairview Township.

From your Legacy Village home, you will have an easy bicycle or golf cart ride to three Cragun’s Legacy golf courses and their driving range as well as three Madden’s golf courses and their driving range. In addition, from the Trail, you can access a number of popular area restaurants, bars and resort shopping and amenities. You will also have access to the Gull Lake Recreation Area which has a playground, beach and boat landing.

The terrain of the trail ranges from flat and open to hilly and scenic. Several communities are working in partnership to extend the paved trail an additional 21 miles wrapping around Gull Lake and eventually connecting to the Paul Bunyan trail in Nisswa. Fairview Township and Lake Shore are currently working to complete their portions.
